Desktop — How to Identify My Desktop Processor and Fan Markings for Warranty Requests

All Intel® Desktop Processors have markings inscribed on the top of the processor package. The most recent Intel® Desktop Processor packages and markings are described here.

Some of these markings include the serial number of the processor which is required for warranty processing. The serial number of a processor is typically a combination of the finished process order (FPO) number and the assembly test process order (ATPO) number. Always provide both numbers if they are available for your processor. If the ATPO number is not present, provide the FPO number.

If you are not sure about the processor package or socket for your processor, collect the processor markings and contact customer support.

All boxed Intel® Processor thermal solutions have a three-year warranty and you can return the thermal solution without returning the processor.

Intel uses multiple manufacturers to supply their boxed thermal solutions so fan markings will differ for each manufacturer. The required markings can be found on the Intel labels attached to the top of the fan.

Note

Both the fan part number and the manufacturer part number are required for warranty processing.

Fan Part Number (Example: E41752-002) is the first number on the fan sticker.
Manufacturer Part Number (Example: DTC-DAA01) is usually the third line on the fan sticker.

DELTA*
A Delta fan follows the Manufacturer Part Number format DTC-XXXXX.

FUJIKURA*
A Fujikura fan follows the Manufacturer Part Number format FHP-XXXXX.

NIDEC CORP.*
A Nidec fan follows the Manufacturer Part Number format F09A-XXXXXX.

FOXCONN*
A Foxconn fan follows the Manufacturer Part Number format FNXXXXXX.

Serial numbers include both upper-case letters and numbers. Customers sometimes mistake a number for a letter or vice versa.
